Mental Health Partnership Council (MHPC)

The Partnership Council carries out its work through collaborative interaction among community members, including consumers, families, and other partners and organizational representatives.

MHPC serves as a forum for the identification and discussion of :
• Mental health needs
• Assets that foster mental health
• Public and private sector policies related to mental health services
• Education and
• Dialogue events on a range of mental health related topics

The Partnership Council was originally formed in 2005. The Council joined the Capital Area Health Alliance in May 2007. 1 The Council promotes the mental health of the tri-county community and quality and accessibility of mental health services within the community.

Mental Health services include prevention and treatment services provided to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, children with emotional disturbances, persons with developmental disabilities, and persons with substance abuse disorders – varying in intensity.

This council is open to anyone in the community who is interested. It is made up of a range of community members and representatives of organizations who are concerned about mental health, including those who receive mental health services, their families, and other partners.

• February 24th –The Sandwich Kid –the sibling of a person with disabilities
• March 19th – Autism with Keri Bower from Abnormal Films and son Taylor
